Greetings friends,
As always a warm welcome to all our new subscribers since our last issue.

Another week in the frantic world of online business.

Things seemed to have slowed down a lot for me as regards sales. I guess most people are lounging in the sun while the rest of us slog our way towards financial freedom.

I just joined another marketing program to try and add some leads and subscribers to my growing list. Here's the link:

You can get all the hits you want, but if it doesnt translate into customers and sales, then you have hits and thats it! The average surfer spends about 26 seconds on your web page. So, how do you turn those hits into customers and sales? 1,2,3,4,Score!

1) First, take a look at your web site. Get a professional opinions. Put function, professionalism, and speed, ahead of flashy slow loading animated, audio, video designs. Sure some are great. Make sure all of your links work, and you dont have any of those red xs. Granted, not everyones browser is going to be working right all of the time, but you should try to have your site compatible with multiple browsers. At least Netscape and Internet Explorer. All the flash, and fancy styled designs does not mean the customer will stick around and buy. Make sure you have a product or service that is in demand, with good quality, and value. Do the research, find out what your demographics for your site are, and ask yourself, if this is something you would buy. Compile the stats into useful marketing knowledge.

2) Next qualify your customers and target your traffic. After you have done your research, homework, compiled all your stats, and information, then start advertising your site geared toward these prospects. People that need and want your product and services. Use the directories, search engines, ezines, newsletters, banners, classified ads, press releases, and partnerships wisely to reach your target audience. Make sure your meta tags, and title pages are setup properly. Many sites, like bcentral.com allow you to target your demographics, like age groups, locations, gender, certain groups, sub groups, directories, sub directories, financial groups, etc. You will soon see your average site session times increase dramatically.

3) Follow Up, Follow Up, Follow Up! Learn how to write exceptional, professional sales letters, and emails. Again, ask a pro to critique, tear them apart, help you to make them the best action oriented sales letters. Stay with your customers that inquire, and overcome their objections. Ask if the customer has any questions. Answer the questions, sell your products, or services, use features and benefits. Remember the top four:

Gather information(Facts), benefits and features, and closing the sale. (Features Tell),....(Benefits Sell!)

Keep in mind, WIIFM - " Whats In It For Me?" A benefit clearly spells out WIFFM for the prospect. However, it is possible to overdo the benefits.

Do not oversell your potential customer. Focus only on those benefits that will be of interest.

Dont forget to ASK FOR THE SALE. you cant overcome objections, if you dont ask for the sale.

4) Finally, Use a personal approach. Online or in the store, customers want individual attention, and are willing to pay for it. Autoresponders, done right, save a ton of time, but you still can take a individual approach. You like knowing your business is highly valued, and so do your customers. The other half of your job is Customer Satisfaction!

So, there you go, 1,2,3,4,Score! Turn your hits into sales, and satisfied customers! Educate, and develop your customer and sales skills. With a great web site, and following the above steps, you really can score! (Financially that is:)

As I have highlighted before on a few occasions in my newsletter, reciprocal linking is probably the best strategy to embark on in order to build a strong web presence for your web business and also to get some quality, targeted links to your site.

What I have noticed though is, that in building these links, some business owners are linking to a vast variety of websites which are totally untargeted to their own websites' content.

When setting up your reciprocal link cataegories do yourself a favour and only supply targeted categories (ie Don't have a Travel category if you own a Home Business website). This strategy will pay off when the search engines come to rank your site.

If you could change one thing in your life today, what would it be? Why don't you have some of the things you'd like to have, and why do you have some? What's the reason for the inconsistency?

Do you find yourself wondering what people think of you? Has that line of thinking ever made you doubt your abilities and your potential?

Do you ever catch yourself thinking 'I can't do that, I'm not good enough' or 'that level of success and prosperity is for them, not for poor old me', or other similar thoughts?

One thing you must realize is that your success in any venture starts with your thoughts about it. If you think you can succeed (in losing weight, stopping smoking, securing a high-income- paying job, finding your ideal partner, etc, etc), you're already on your way to getting what you want.

Someone once said (I forget who) 'if you think you can or if you think you can't, you're probably right'. It's up to you to make things happen in your life.

The way your mind works, it accepts whatever you feed it as reality. So if you feed it with thoughts of success (eg 'I CAN lose weight healthily', 'I CAN stop smoking', 'I CAN find a high- income paying job, etc, etc), it will work to make it happen.

You'll become alert to opportunities (and they are all around you if you'd only open your eyes and look) to move you towards your desired results.

Conversely, if you feed your mind with negative thoughts such as the ones above, your mind doesn't bother to find solutions to your problems. It closes up. You wouldn't recognize an opportunity to help you out if it slapped you in the face.

You know, it takes the same amount of effort to think positive thoughts as it takes to think negative thoughts. If positive thoughts help move you towards your goals while negative ones move you further away from them, it makes sense to dwell on the positive.

Mark Twain (and later Napoleon Hill) said that 'What the human mind can conceive and believe, the human mind can achieve'.

The problem comes up after conceiving a potentially great idea. The little voice inside you starts saying things like 'that's a crazy idea' or 'nobody's ever done that before -who do you think you are?' . Your friends and family make fun of your idea. You begin to get discouraged and to think 'maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all'.

What should you do when this happens? Take control of your thoughts, that's what. Your mind has conceived it, remember, so your mind CAN achieve it. You just need to line up your thoughts and actions with what you want to do.

Tell all those naysayers (internal and external) that you will succeed in reaching your goal.

The next line of thinking after 'I CAN' is 'I WILL'.

Feed yourself with thoughts like that about yourself (and act accordingly) and you'll see your confidence, awareness and productivity soar. You'll find yourself attracting those things you want into your life.

Who says you can't make it? Tell them you CAN and you WILL. Then go out there and make it happen.
