Greetings HBT Newsletter Subscribers,

Our 'Words of Wisdom' section today(below) reminds me of how important is to take action if you ever want to succeed online. Not only to take ONE step but to continue taking positive action every day to grow a thriving business.

I am reminded on almost a daily basis - through email correspondence - that most are just not willing to make this commitment.

This fact is partly due to the neverending hype that is propigated on websites throughout the net, but also partly because many newcomers just have unrealistic expectations about what to expect from setting up online.

With any serious business you will need to put in some time, a lot of work, and definitely a little cash investment. You may start of free but somewhere along the line you will have to pay.

You WILL encounter obstacles along the way but if you are cut out to really succeed then you will not find any setbacks insurmountable.

The good news is that the average person can succeed. There is no one more average that I am and I enjoy the benefits of working full-time from home. I have been since 2004.

Thinking about taking the first step just will not do, you MUST make the first move. My experience is that you may be very surprised by how things fall into place once you make the commitment.

Without a doubt the main obstacle that prevents you from starting your own internet marketing business is procrastination - one of a thousand and one fears - brought on by the 'paralysis of analysis'. You are likely becoming bogged down by worrying over the minute details, and about making mistakes and you MUST overcome this 'block' if you are ever to even make a start on your internet home business.

Even taking the smallest action can put you in a better frame of mind. This 'action' can be as simple as registering your own domain name. It only costs about $10 per year to register your business name - your .com - so it is hardly a massive risk.

The type of action isn't of the utmost importance if you are paralysed by fear. Taking any action is more about breaking through barriers and creating momentum. Every successful internet business - without exception - has been built one step at a time, one day at a time.

From my own experience online - and from listening to other super affiliates and the so called internet marketing 'gurus - they did not have an exact plan in mind when they setout. They took positive action on a daily basis and the plan presented itself over time. The little successes led to their current success in life.

Again, just make a start! The tweaks and fixes are part of everyday online business life. These can be implimented as you go along.

I can make a prediction about your life even though I have never met you - If you have wanted to start an internet marketing business and have not taken action yet then it is because you are coming up with excuses everytime the time comes to make a start. I am not a seer or psychic. I know from working with other would be online entrepreneuers that there are always excuses about why they cannot start today.

If I could some up this unwllingness to get started in one word it would be FEAR. The only way to overcome fear is by postive action.

Of course, I am not encouraging to continue your business at length without some sort of plan. You do need to setout a budget and plan your time carefully. There is one action you can take today though - no matter how small - that will set you on your path to finally getting your business up and running.

Even if you look at the worst case scenario it is never so bad as you have made it out to be. Write down your fears and worries. It will be much easier to see a solution if you put your problems on paper. For instance if you have a financial worry, one solution would be to find ways to build your business using free internet marketing methods. If you have a problem with time then you may set a time limit on your daily internet activities.

Rome was not built in a day and neither will your internet business. It will never be built though unless you take some sort of action today - no matter how small and insignificant this 'start' may seem.

Have you tried to succeed yet continually fail? Perhaps you’re missing one of the fundamentals required for success. If you are, you’re fighting an uphill battle and you may not know why. Are any of these success killers derailing your efforts?

1. You lack a clearly defined objective for what you want.

2. You lack the ambition to set your standards for performance higher than the average person.

3. You lack-self discipline and self-control.

4. You procrastinate.

5. You lack persistence.

6. You have a negative attitude, even though you might think you don’t.

7. You want something for nothing and don’t focus on providing more value than you’re paid for.

8. You find it difficult to make a decision.

9. You’re overly cautious or fearful of taking risks.

10. You lack the focus and concentration to work toward your clearly defined objective.

How many of these killers are keeping you from success and to what degree? Identify the ones that are impacting you the most and set a goal to overcome the three that are doing the most damage. As you set your goals remember to set them in terms of the positive thing you want rather than the negative thing you don’t want. Focusing on the negative keeps you in that negative mind-set and will make it impossible for you to achieve your new goals, and make the improvements you need to make to get the success you want.

Before you rush off and think you’ve identified everything check with those around you and find out how they’d rate you in each area. Ask them to rate you from zero, this doesn’t sound like you at all, to 10; this is exactly you in each area. Don’t skip this exercise because frequently your biggest obstacles to success are completely blind to you. You don’t realize you even have some of your biggest and worst obstacles. When that’s the case you won’t be able to make progress because you’re your own worst enemy.
