Just been looking generally through my set up online today and I’ll try to post some ways that I feel are important for the long haul in this business.
If I wasn’t organised in some way in regards to my PC Folders set up and Emails I would find it very difficult to function from day to day.
You wouldn’t run an offline business and just leave documents, letters from different companies lying about all over the place and the same principle applies to online business aswel.
This means for me that as my business grows I have to constantly set up new folders on my desktop and email software(I use Outlook Express) to keep things organised.
To set up a new folder on your desktop just pick a blank space on the desktop, right click on your mouse, scroll down to “new” and the click on “folder”. A new folder will appear on your desktop which you should name.
For instance some of the folders on my desktop are “Traffic Secrets Extras”, “Templates”, “Traffic Swarm Management” etc etc. When I create a document, usually a notepad file, related to these topics I just drag them into the folder for easy access later.
I do the same in my Outlook Express with my emails. It is important that you create a folder for each program you are involved with and sort each email you receive into these various folders. I also have a folder called “Recent Contacts” into which I put each email after I respond to it.
There is also a program called Spam Bully that I use which sorts 99% of the spam before it even reaches my main folder. This helps a lot.
